Clanfield Cross 2024 - 2025 Season

General Information

What to Expect

A fun and varied course with climbing, technical challenges and fast sweeping downhill sections, all set in the beautiful South Downs National Park.  The course is set out on a dedicated CX venue with chalk and clay mixed topsoil, currently 90% of the course is short grass.  When wet this course gets very slippery but not deep mud.

We have quality food and refreshments available at the event which you can rely on.  Supporting these vendors helps make the event sustainable.

Inter-regional Championships

If you haven’t heard, we are hosting the newly re-invented Cyclo-cross Inter-regional Youth Championships within the trophy weekend.  It will add a new and exciting dimension to the weekend, and we hope all riders and their supporters will hang around and enthusiastically cheer these events which represent an important part of the future of our sport.

General Venue Information

Photography

The event is held on private land and permits photography of all races and riders, both on the course and during presentations.  Professional photographers will be issued with coloured bibs, so they are easily identified.  Anyone attending the event and not wishing to be seen in photographs or video should make this known to the organiser, however it must be noted this will probably require non-attendance by those persons.

Gazebos

We are encouraging gazebo’s to be set up on the grass close to the main hub where the finish line is also positioned.  Gazebos and awnings may be set up anywhere with consideration for the movement of people and parking of cars but please don’t use parking spaces for gazebos.  You will be asked to move if you do this.

Campers

Please book  if you want to stay Friday and / or Saturday night in a camper.

There is a water tap and loos, but no power connection.

Litter & Rubbish

We have large waste bags positioned around the venue including in the pits and event village.  Good manners should mean everyone takes their litter home, places it in the bags provided but does not leave it for us to clear up.    There are now UCI fines for riders or their helpers who do not dispose of their litter correctly.
